Description

Published in 1968 and never out of print in the fifty years since, it has become a much-loved classic and perennial bestseller. Mog, that adorably plump, somewhat befuddled cat who first appeared in Judith Kerr's Mog the Forgetful Cat, is back in this charming story, which details her devotion to her stuffed toy, Bunny. I love this book so much because it reminds me of my very first cat, Missy and her toy bunny (which I made for her out of an old sock). The plot has the typical basic structure of (1) Background, (2) Something bad happens, (3) Happy ending. Seller has stated it will dispatch the item within 1 working day upon receipt of cleared payment - opens in a new window or tab .

Her second book was Mog the Forgetful Cat, which was published in 1970 and has also gone on to become a beloved classic, with Mog appearing in a further 17 adventures in the years since. We have had a couple of incidents that were really distressing but just like Mog in this story it thankfully ended happily. This will always be one of my all-time favourites and I honestly can't wait to read it to my own kids someday and have them stare with big eyes when Mog loses his precious bunny and is crying big cat tears until the doll is found again. Author and artist Judith Kerr creates another installment in the adventure series begun 30 years ago with Mog the Forgetful Cat, Mog's Bad Thing. For some reason this, combined with the very sweet pictures and simple (but not boring) text, really appeals.Judith was awarded the Booktrust Lifetime Achievement Award in 2016, and in 2019 was named Illustrator of the Year at the British Book Awards. I remember it being read to me when I was very little, the later reading it myself and reading it to my little sister and brother. This is most likely to be suitable for KS1 students, as it has plenty of illustrations, and it enables them to use their imagination to wonder where Mog is.

Celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of Mog the Forgetful Cat with special anniversary editions of her much-loved adventures. At Books2Door, we believe that reading is a fundamental skill that every child should have to help improve their vocabulary, grammar, and critical thinking skills. This book evoked every feeling I had for that cat and was told so perfectly that I suspect the author was basing this off of personal experience as well. Judith died in May 2019 at the age of 95, and her stories continue to entertain and delight generations of children.Mog the Forgetful Cat was first published fifty years ago, and Mog has been delighting children all over the world with her adventures ever since.
